Alexander: Are you crazy? You keep on asking the same thing. What then? Of course when I will have conqred the whole world, I will return here, to my own kingdom.

Diogenus: So what will you do when you have conquered the whole world and returned to your kingdom?

Alexander: Are you really insane? What else, to do when I return from the conquest, having the entire world under my rule, I will be the master of the entire earth. I will then simply rest in wonderful nature, enjoy beautiful stream of river and have fun in water?

Diogenus: Oh! So what do you think I am doing here, in the jungle, on the bank of river. Don’t you see that what you are going to do after conquering the whole world, I am doing it right now, with no clothes to cover my body and no roof to give me shelter.

Alexander could not understand what Diogenus meant, at least not when he was going for the conquest. And when he did understand, it was when he was dying at a very early age in his thirties.

Alexander represents the state of entire humanity. We all want to conquer the world out there, but what we really want are the little things in life – a moment of relaxation, a small stretch of time in vicinity of nature, enjoy the company of our dear one, may be a cup of tea or coffee. That’s all what we want in the end.

You can ask anybody – what he or she really wants. Keep on asking and you will reach a point when the person says, well, all I want is few moments of peace, comfort with my self, enjoying the life.
