Don’t you think that Surya in this story represents all of us, at least most of us. There is no way for us to what is ultimately good or bad, there is no way for us to know the bigger scheme of life.

You may feel that a wonderful date with a beautiful woman is the best thing that happened to you. That date eventually matures into marriage, which turns out to be a nightmare. Which is then thought to be the worst thing that happens to you.

The truth is that however intelligent a man thinks he is, he cannot know whether an incident in life is good or bad, whether it is right or wrong. And when we don’t really know, why to pretend that we know? Intelligent behavior is to admit that we do not know what is right or wrong, what is good or bad.

This does not mean that you look at your dinner and say to yourself that I do not know what is good or bad, what is right or wrong, so I am confused what to eat. No, it is about inner life. Knowledge of outer world is a different thing, I am talking of your perception of events or circumstance of your life.

One of the first things that The Bible teaches is this – drop judgment. Very early in The Bible comes the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, committing the original sin of eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad.
