If I were short of money and not able to afford much content on this site except one page, and if I still wanted this site to there, it would be this page.

When I ask – what do you think is the opposite of Letting Go? I receive various answers like, Holding onto, Not surrendering, Opposing, fighting with life, resistance, obsessiveness, desire and so on.

I think the opposite of Letting Go is Stupidity!

Of course, I should either let go, or I am stupid. (using you instead of I retains the meaning). And why not?

Letting go may have a different connotation for different people, ranging from a distorted version like throwing the towel to a closer one like surrendering. However, letting go is so simple in its meaning. To let go means to not fight something, to not fight something that is. One may prefer to call it a spiritual practice or a anything, but it is the most practical way, most rational and sane way to deal with life and the situations arising in life.

One word that comes close to letting go is acceptance, but this word is also misleading. When you are asked to accept something, it is meant that you are asked not to make change to it. So chances are that acceptance can be misunderstood for inaction Forget about everything you have learnt from books about letting go, here’s a lesson straight from the University of Life.. Letting go is different, it means not fighting something. Not because the challenge is tough or the situation is not changeable, but because fighting it serves no purpose. You can still change a situation and not fight it. Not because fighting is bad, but because you can really understand that fighting can neither make the situation disappear nor does it change it, in short, fighting is a false response to any situation. In fact a stupid response. May be a habit, which needs some reconsideration.

We spend so much energy, physical and psychic when we could have simply let go of something. You are on time for the flight connecting to your branch office (pretend for once even if you don’t have one) where you are going to attend a very important meeting, and just then, the cancellation of that flight is announced. Something you were not ready for.
