| A spiritual seeker was watching a boat as it sailed from one side of the holy Ganges River to a town on the other side. For some reasons, the boat could not keep afloat and it turned upside down. The passengers riding in the boat were thrown in deep waters of the Ganges. One of the man could not swim. He did not wanted to drown. He was like rest of us, so he tried every way to keep himself on the surface of water, he moved his hands, his feet, every part of his body, he tried really hard, unfortunately he could not manage to stay afloat for more that few seconds. The holy Ganges took him to his ultimate journey, the last voyage to death.
The seeker looking at this scene was wondering if the man was still alive or not, but it seemed that the deep waters had swallowed this man. The seeker took a deep sigh and got back to his work. But he was taken by surprise at what he saw. Not much time had passed since the man had drown and his dead body was floating on the surface of Ganges. On seeing the dead body floating, the seeker experienced a flash of insight.
He had witnessed a man trying everything he could to keep afloat, but it seemed as if the more he tried, the more he was drowning, and the most amazing part of that scene was that the dead body, which was not making any attempt to stay up was floating on the surface of water as if it was a part of the river.
What was happening? One man tries, but get more into troubles, a dead body cannot try, still it manages to keep floating. You too must have noticed this amazing phenomenon.
The flash of insight that seeker got was from this incidence. And here I am sharing that insight with you. |
